On September 20th, 2014, Notch sold Minecraft and became a billionaire overnight. In the decade since this transaction, Notch has thrown parties worldwide, purchased his Hillcrest home, and started his new gaming studio, Bitshift Entertainment. Fast-forward to September 20th, 2024, and Notch threw the Player's Ball to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this life-changing achievement.
As a warm-up for the evening's festivities, Notch and a few close friends joined him at Bird Streets Club for a private comedy show featuring Dave Chapelle, Chris Spencer & Deon Cole! Laughs were had by all. Due to the club's strict no-photo policy, we can only give you a taste of the hilarity through these reenactment caricatures.
As guests entered the door, they became instant billionaires by receiving a bundle of 1 billion Notch Bucks. We set up various prize stations and activities for guests to spend their fortunes on throughout the house. Tickets to see Justice at the Bowl, Lakers playoffs, Uber vouchers, and Erewhon gift cards were just a few prizes attendees could purchase with their Notch Bucks. We even auctioned off Notch’s statue of Bumblebee from Transformers to the highest bidder! It was absurd.
Cquestt, Thee Mike B, Bambii, and Jubilee curated open-format and hip-hop selections upstairs. In the basement, Team EZY, Naisha, Skrillex, and Overmono soundtracked underground sounds until the break of dawn.
In addition to our caviar bump station, Malli did some gourmet flips on carnival food classics, Panhead kept it cool with the popsicles, & Kokoro No Kohi kept us caffeinated for the extra late night.
